What does it mean to be "saved"
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, [e]and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
1 John 5:13 NKJV
There are a lot of people walking around confused or not sure of their salvation. Many are still looking for hope and satisfaction even though they would proclaim they follow Jesus. Why is this? Where is the confusion? Is it wrong to want to be sure of your salvation? Not at all!
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23 NKJV
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 NKJV
Why do we need to be "saved"
We all want to be live that we’re “good” people, I mean it isn’t hard to look out over the landscape of society and find someone that we can say, “hey, I am glad I am not as screwed up as that person.. geesh”. That problem with that thinking is that we’re all just as screwed up and the person beside us.. so none of us can compare ourselves to ourselves because we’re all stained by Adam. When Adam fell in the garden, we all fell, we were born into a sin condition that sealed our fate, ever to be separated from God.
The penalty for sin is death. We were condemned to death. Period.
Thank God He loved us so much that He wouldn’t leave us in that condition. So since by one man’s choice all of us were doomed, God made it possible for us to make our own choice whether we would remain under the penalty of Adam’s choice. Our godd isn’t good enough, but thank God we have the choice to accept Jesus’ choice to pay the cost for our sins. We can choose.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 NKJV
What does it mean to "believe"
Here is where a lot of people, even those who may think they’re Christian can misunderstand what the Bible means by “believe”
When they bible using the term “believe” it means a little more than what we’re accustomed to in our present day. There are a lot of things we “believe” casually but that belief doesn’t move us beyond a nod of acceptance.. ” yeah , I think I believe that” or “yeah, I can go along with that”. Kinda like believing man traveled to the moon, yeah I believe that but that doesn’t mean I’m signing up for the next rocket launch!
“Believing on Jesus” is more than a casual acceptance of some historical event. It means to belief to the point of trusting and entrusting Jesus with our very lives. A belief that produces a desire to surrender our lives to Him.
Believing means that we trust in what He has said about our need for His saving power and that we entrust Him with our very lives through faith.
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13 NKJV
Can I become "saved"
Let’s say I bought you a gift, and when we met, I offered the gift to you. No need for you to pay for the gift because I’ve already paid the price for the gift, all you need to do is to receive what I have paid for.
We are saved by faith through grace. Meaning we don’t have to earn salvation.. we don’t have to pay for it because it’s the gift that Jesus has already the paid for it – with His very life. We have to simply accept His gift by coming into agreement with what the Bible says about all of us.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV
How do I become "saved"
You become saved when you put your trust in what the Bible says about Jesus and His sacrificing His life so that we may live. All we have to do is to come into agreement with Him and to accept His gift of salvation.
Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, believing that through His perfect life and sinless death, we will escape the condemnation of sin that leads to a permanent separation from God throughout eternity.
Being “saved” doesn’t mean being perfect – His gift isn’t about us living perfectly but it’s about accepting His perfection and trusting that He will never leave us not forsake us.

SALVATION PRAYER
God I believe all that Your word says about Jesus and about me.
I agree with You that I am stained by Adam’s sin and also my own sins. I agree that I was born into sin and that being a “good” person cannot save me. Only Jesus can do that.
I confess that I am in need of the gift of Your Son Jesus, that Jesus died for my sins on a cross, and on the 3rd day was raised from the dead.
I confess today that I am placing my faith for eternal life completely in Jesus.
I believe in Him, I trust Him, and I am entrusting Him with my very life.
I accept Your gift of salvation through Jesus by faith and I praise You Lord this day for saving me
In Jesus’ name I pray – AMEN
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Romans 10:9-11 NKJV
Congratulations You're Now "Saved"
“But wait.. didn’t I need to be in a church service or somewhere for this to be official?”
Absolutely not.. God is everywhere and He is right there with you now. He heard your words and sees your heart. We don’t need to be IN church to be saved, but church does serve as the place God intends for us to learn how to live the Christ that we confess. Church helps us to make sense of the world we live in and helps to learn how to apply God’s word to everyday life.
So, now you should begin a search for a church home, so you can grow into the very person that God has created you to be.
