Discomfort And Destiny Go Together

I spent years focused on weight only to realize it was just a side effect of “weight” that couldn’t be seen.

Like the Times I felt overwhelmed , sad or even happy meant times to overeat. I associated food and fun, food and comfort, food and a reward and on and on the unhealthy association list went for years.

Those patterns kept me locked in a cycle of joining and quitting and rejoining almost every program out there. Always focused on food & weight when they were just symptoms

Quiet time this morning in Matthew 16 reminds me once again the price of entry to destiny includes discomfort. It means going deeper than the things we can see and looking at spiritual fitness

Jesus gives the command of what it means to follow him. It requires denying self (aka welcome discomfort) , take up our cross and follow. This impacts every single area of life.

Discomfort is the price of entry and now I know that’s not just willpower it’s SKILL power

It’s not just working out it’s working WITHIN and working THROUGH without the “crutch” of excess food or excess shopping or excess anything that distracts me from the WORK.

GODS word has a way of being a mirror !!
Now as I face a long day I embrace the discomfort included. It’s actually a gift for my growth !!

Will you join me in denying “self” today ? That means doing what we don’t feel like doing , taking action on things we’ve been procrastinating about , having a different response and on and on
